Five Principles Of Animal Freedom

The internationally recognised the " Five Principles Of Animal Freedom " are also incorporated into the codes and guidelines of the Department Of Veterinary Services Malaysia, and Malaysian Veterinary Council, for the betterment of animal welfare, and humane treatment throughout Malaysia.



1. Freedom From Hunger And Thirst

– Access to safe fresh drinking water and food to maintain optimal health.



2. Freedom From Discomfort

– Provide an appropriate environment including shelter and a comfortable place to rest.



3. Freedom From Pain, Injuries And Diseases

– Prevention, diagnosis and veterinary medical treatment.



4. Freedom To Exhibit Normal Behaviour / Character

– Provide sufficient space, proper facilities and companies of their own kind.



5. Freedom From Fear And Suffering

– Provide sound conditions and treatment which avoid mental suffering.
